Continuing its long history of service to the community, The Junior League of Morristown has made grant awards to community organizations in its service area of greater Morris and Somerset Counties. The purpose of the program was to provide grant awards to non-profit community organizations to support projects that are consistent with the JLM focus of assisting women and children at risk. These grants were awarded to purchase specific items or to fund specific programs but shall not be awarded for the purpose of funding staff positions or administrative costs such as rent or other operational expenses, or towards annual campaign funds.
Past grant awards have included the following:
- Roots and Wings ($15,000)
- Women's Health and Counseling Center in Somerville ($20,000) to furnish a new room in its facility;
- El Primer Paso in Dover ($25,000) to construct a new playground;
- KO Boxing in Morristown ($5,000) to help implement a new program;
- Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc., Morris County ($4,500);
- Children's Cultural Arts Center (($3,000);
- Children on the Green ($2,000); and
- Mrs. Wilson's ($2,000)
