Voluntarism Scholarship 

The Voluntarism Scholarships were established in 1986 as a gift to the community as part of JLM's 50th anniversary celebration. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's demonstrated commitment to voluntarism.  Secondary criteria include leadership, extra-curricular activities, scholastic effort and family responsibilities.  Financial need is not considered.  Both boys and girls are eligible to apply.

Are any of your dedicated volunteers going to an accredited college or trade school next September?  Do you know anyone who you would recommend for a $2,500 college scholarship for outstanding volunteers?  This year, the Junior League of Morristown, Inc. (JLM) is offering four such scholarships to residents of Morris and Somerset counties.

If you have volunteers who would benefit from these scholarships, please let them know about these awards.  With your help, your volunteer may win of these scholarships!

The winner will be notified by March 28, 2010. The scholarship award will be sent directly to the institution in which the recipient will enroll (or is currently enrolled).


Women Moving Forward 70th Anniversary
Voluntarism Scholarship 
for a Woman Returning to College 

Since 1986, the Junior League of Morristown (JLM) has awarded the High School Voluntarism Scholarship to high school seniors in Morris and Somerset counties to show our commitment to developing volunteers in our community.

Additionally, In celebration of our 70th anniversary, the JLM began awarding a $2,500 Women Moving Forward scholarship to a woman 40 years of age and older, who is planning to attend or is attending college after taking time away from school. The primary criteria are a commitment to improving oneself through education and financial need. Secondary criteria are scholastic effort and work or family responsibilities. Applicants have to reside in Morris or Somerset counties, and must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Completed applications are due in our office no later than January 31, 2010
