Voluntarism Scholarships

*Application deadline is March 31, 2024. Winners will be notified in early May.*

As of 2022, the Junior League of Morristown, Inc. has awarded over 160 Scholarships totaling more than $270,000.

All scholarships are awarded to applicants who reside or attend school in Morris or Somerset County and who will be attending college or vocational school.

All applications will be accepted through Google forms with supporting details sent through email. Details are linked below. 


High School Senior Voluntarism Scholarship 

The Voluntarism Scholarships were established in 1986 as a gift to the community as part of JLM's 50th anniversary celebration. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's demonstrated commitment to voluntarism.  Secondary criteria include leadership, extra-curricular activities, scholastic effort and family responsibilities.  Financial need is not considered.  Both male and female students are eligible to apply.

Do you know someone who you would recommend for a $2,500 scholarship for outstanding volunteers?  The Junior League of Morristown, Inc. (JLM) is offering scholarships to students who reside or attend school in Morris and Somerset counties and are planning to attend an accredited college or trade school next year.

Woman Moving Forward Scholarship 

In celebration of our 70th anniversary, the JLM began awarding a $2,500 Woman Moving Forward scholarship to a woman 40 years of age and older, who is planning to attend or is attending college or trade school after taking time away from school. The primary criteria are a commitment to improving oneself through education and financial need. Secondary criteria are scholastic effort and work or family responsibilities. Applicants have to reside or attend school in Morris or Somerset counties.

Post-Secondary Education Assistance Grant

In 2016, the JLM introduced a new community impact area, focused on providing teens in Morris County and surrounding areas with access to resources related to education, life skills and basic needs to enable students to succeed through high school and beyond. 

In 2019, in alignment with our area of focus, the JLM announced a new scholarship to help enable post-secondary education for graduating high school seniors.

The scholarship awards will be sent directly to the institution in which the recipient will enroll (or is currently enrolled).
